Matlab and data analysis (for Ph.D. students, English)

2:00-6:00 PM as an online meeting in MS Teams.

Course content

In this course, you will learn the basics of programming and especially how to use Matlab for universal data analysis. It is a course for beginners. The goal is that the participants without previous knowledge learn to use Matlab for data analysis, statistical evaluation, and visualization of results. At the end of the course, the participants have learned enough to be able to use further functions of Matlab themselves using the program's help.

Credit Points for MD-PhD students. 

Target group

MD-PhD and Ph.D. students who want to learn a versatile program for their data analysis and acquire basic programming skills. e.g. with regard to data analysis in their doctoral thesis. 

The class is offered as a “Global Classroom“ also to Ph.D. students of our partners of the “University of the Greater Region” and the European University “Transform for Europe”. This gives a chance to get into contact with students all across Europe.

 

Course schedule

Regularly in the summer and winter semesters as a block course, and eventually during the semester break.

Current dates are announced via the mailing lists for MD-PhD and Ph.D. students. The courses take place in form of interactive video conferences in an innovative format, where the presenter is visible in the slides.

Matlab and Data Analysis (German)

 
Place

Courses and exams will take place in seminar room 2.08 of the IMBEI, building 86, top floor, Homburg campus.

 

Course content

In this course, you will learn the basics of programming and especially how to use Matlab for universal data analysis. It is a course for beginners. The goal is that the participants without previous knowledge learn to use Matlab for data analysis, statistical evaluation, and visualization of results. At the end of the course, the participants have learned enough to be able to use further functions of Matlab themselves using the program's help.

 

Target group

Students who want to learn a versatile program for data analysis and acquire basic programming skills, e.g. regarding data analysis in their Ph.D. thesis. The class is recognized as an elective in the 2nd („clinical“) part of the curriculum (with a written exam). The class is open to all students, and also to those who do not take it as an elective course. A certificate of participation is issued for all participants (regardless of the exam).
